Making medicines make a difference Contact me
I am James Andrews, I am a pharmacist, and I have a simple aim: to provide any healthcare commissioner, provider or business with complete and integrated answers to their medicines management needs.
Why do medicines need managing?
Medicines are the single most common medical intervention in any developed healthcare system: the NHS alone spends over £11 billion each year on medicines (1) although up to half of all patients do not take them as prescribed (2).
With at least 6% of emergency admissions being a direct result of problems with medicines (3) and over 540,000 bed days in England and Wales attributed to adverse events to medicines (4), it's easy to see why a healthcare organisation truly committed to improved patient care and outcomes will focus on finding answers to their medicines management needs, and to the corresponding needs of their patients.
Why me?
With over a decade of experience working in and for healthcare businesses, commissioners and providers, I have an established record in delivering elegant, innovative and realistic answers to medicines management needs at all levels, from an individual patient up to a primary care organisation.
At the heart of it, I use established local knowledge and extensive professional experience to make medicines count in all truly patient focussed services, with success being down to four elements:
• Keeping the patient, and their satisfaction, central to all that I do
• Keeping a continued focus on quality
• Providing expertise and innovation across medicines management pathways
• Working with dedication
